Towed to open waters by the Chilean Navy
(2016-01-06) Captain Signe Meling reports that both Kon-Tiki II rafts left their moorings outside Easter Island today. Tupac Yupanqui was towed first, then Rahiti Tane. The Chilean Navy is very professional and helpful. The raft are towed at a speed of 5 knots and the crew hope to return to sail power before dark.
